Yaroslav Grechkin | Psychotherapy in Hawkesbury and virtually across Ontario & Nova Scotia

If you’ve been carrying the feeling that you’re not good enough—constantly questioning yourself, worrying about disappointing others, or fearing rejection—you are not alone. You might replay conversations, overthink messages, struggle to say no, seek reassurance, or feel deeply affected by criticism, conflict, or signs of distance from someone you care about.
Living this way can be exhausting. You may know logically that you’re capable, lovable, and doing your best, yet still struggle to feel it emotionally. These patterns aren’t signs of weakness or failure. They often develop as ways of protecting yourself after difficult experiences, painful relationships, unmet emotional needs, or learning that love and acceptance had to be earned. What once helped you cope may now be keeping you from experiencing greater confidence, connection, and peace.
Hi, I’m Yaroslav (Y for short), a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a Registered Counselling Therapist (Candidate) with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists (NSCCT). I provide therapy for adults, adolescents, and couples in Hawkesbury and virtually across Ontario & Nova Scotia.
I believe therapy should be a place where you don’t have to perform, hide parts of yourself, or pretend everything is okay. My goal is to create a space where you feel emotionally safe, deeply understood, and accepted as you are. Together, we’ll explore the patterns behind your thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and relationships, understand where they come from, and develop healthier ways of responding.
My approach integrates EMDR, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Schema Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Using EMDR alongside these approaches, we’ll work through distressing experiences, quiet your inner critic, understand and regulate your emotions, recognize the fears driving your reactions, and challenge painful beliefs such as “I’m not good enough,” “I’ll be rejected,” or “I have to be perfect to be accepted.” Together, we’ll build self-compassion, confidence, emotional balance, and more fulfilling relationships.
